  • All glue and barrier protection are removed with a diamond disk grinder
  • We find the best match timber floorboard and begin the re-installation process

Sunlight Timber Floor Damage

Sunlight over a long period of time can cause the appearance of timber to change. Examples may include direct sunlight thru a large glass door or a throw rug or couch in the same place for years creating a tan line or visible imprint. This type of surface damage may require the floor to be re-coated.

Heat stress or shrinkage of timber flooring near windows can also be a problem. It’s important to have window coverings prior to repairs. In some cases, the floor can be sanded and re-coated to remove lips that have occurred due to this stress.

Renovations or Wall Removal

Where you have walls that have been removed then it’s a re-toothing process. Timber of the same species is purchased, generally portions of the existing timber floor are removed so as not to leave a pattern.

The new timber is installed, sanded and polished. In some cases, we can treat the affected area, however in many cases the whole area will require a sand and polish to ensure the area matches.
